: So I've decided that the strap I origanally put on my bag is too light in color. This should be pretty easy to remedy with some dark shoe polish, but I'm also a little concerned about the weight of the strap. How heavy is the leather most of you all have used? The only stuff I could find that came in a long enough length was pretty light weight. It's certainly not heavy enough to be used for something like a belt since it would stretch too much. Anyone out there have any thoughts on this one?
My straps have been made out of heavy hide, but as you pointed out, you can't find them in the correct length, so I had my leather maker splice two straps together to make the correct length. Worked out very nicely. Regards. Michaelson
