check out Bronislaw Malinowski, "A Diary in the Strict Sense of the Term". It's published excerpts from the anthropologist's private journal, kept while engaged in fieldwork in the Trobriand Islands (off of Australia, for the geographically challenged out there).
It offers a great window into the private thoughts of a man who revolutionized social studies.
Malinowski appeared in that gemstone chase episode.
No mention of Indy in his diary though... but remember, Reading Is Fundamental!
