Indy 64---HELP I"M GOING CRAZY

I must be stupid but I'm STILL stuck at the monastary.....I'm looking for the treasur for the old woman and have turn the big statue till it wonm't turn anymore have gone underneath to the elevator that goes to the door way up top that I can't open with out a key.....I've b een advised to look for some wax in the monks room but I still have yet to find it....HELP I've been at it for two days and most of its been in the monastary...I've been making Indy commit suicide over and over its like Groundhog day.....right now hes drowning.....PLEASE HELP
