I know exactly what you mean. I've gotten stuck on this game so many times already and I'm only half way through it. Ya get stuck and try and try to beat a board but ya end up just beating your head against a wall instead. I got so fed up having to retrace my steps over and over and over on each board I decided to search for some help on websites. I found this page(link below) that has a fairly detainled section for each board that contains step-by-step procedures. I think this site is for the PC version of the game but everything so far seems about the same. I end up usin' this page for almost every new board now. I hope this helps somewhat, you'll still get that rip-out-your-hair feeling every now and then, but at least you'll have a few hints.
