The germans weren't portrayed stupid

The germans in the movie were more evil, sadistic and just plain mean...not stupid... To them their way was the only way so why should they know anything more than about themselves. Indy could of course outsmart them, the guy knows 25 dif. languages...and has years of field work in this area "treasure hunting" they don't. They had to hire Indy's evil equal....Belloq. If they had been americans they would've hired Indy just like well...the americans did. ANd Belloq was French..
