A desperate plea for help...N64 Indy Jones

I know this is going to sound totally lame but i for the life of me cannot figure out how to get past the first board; or New Mexico, 1947..I've read the walk through the official walk through at the LucasArts site but it has not made any bit of help.

If someone could please help me out, i would be very grateful.
