DON'T USE SOAP!!! Just use a damp rag to wipe off the excess dirt, then let dry. You'll see that the band will definately be affected by light, so the coating you may be looking at may actually be the ribbon fading on you. Anyway, just use a damp washrag, and it should take the majority of the dirt off for you. Regards. Michaelson
