I admit those boots look large (they seem a bit longer than most of my other boots and shoes), but I still wear the size that I wear on average. According to the sales person at the Alden shop, the 405 runs a bit large. I tried half a size smaller than my regular to see how they would fit, but I found that too snug for my taste.
Get your foot measured! Most shoe stores have the necessary contraption; you can even measure your foot yourself. It's easy to do, but don't forget to measure the width as well! BTW, you can tell Alden the width of your foot, and the width of your heel...
