It wasn't aimed at the British, this attitude towards fans of anything other than sports is rampant in the States as well. I only used HJ and Wested as examples because those are the ones I've seen the most complaints about. And as far as the post coming from my 'feelings journal', it didn't. As I said, that's just people's general attitude towards movie and science fiction fans, fans as dedicated as we are, anyway. I don't know many people who share my interests, so maybe I notice this more, because I associate with the wrong people. But you can't tell that when you speak of your enthusiasm for Indy, Star Wars or whatever that you don't get the occassional sarcastic grin or roll of the eyes. Who knows? Maybe I just need new friends....
