CARE OF WESTED?

OK i got my new finish Raiders Wested and I love it except that
I've only been wearing it about 2 weeks (everyday) and already
the leather is getting chafed on the side, probably because of the
bag rubbing against it (yes, I know Indy wears the bag on the
inside of the jacket but it's freezing in new york so i have to zip up
and when the full bag's inside the jacket there's not enough
room, i look like i have a tumor, so I wear the bag over the
jacket.).

Anyway, eventually i would lke it distressed naturally, but i didn't
think it would get like this so fast (and only in one spot). At this
rate, there'll be a hole in the side in six months. is there a way to
care for the leather so this doesn't happen?

Is lambskin really delicate or something?
