If You Put The Staff In A Certain Spot, At A Certain Time Of Day...

In light of recent posts fueling the 2001 conspiracy, I now fear they WILL make Indy 4, and we won't get to talk about it anymore!

But really, I would be in awe of Lucas and Spielberg if they could pull off Indy 4 in 2001. Could the same team that used to try and throw everyone with their fake working titles really be up to "beating the system" today?

Let us consider the Big 3...(oh come on, you know you love a good Indy 4 theory! Otherwise, we're just a bunch of people talking about a 20 year old movie here!!)

LUCAS

- The guy seemed pretty peeved that fanboys on the net were all over Episode I, long before its release. Could his newfound generous approach with Episode II photos and info be a way of keeping everyone focused on Star Wars...while over here...?

SPIELBERG

- Why did it take him so long before he started working on his next project? What is this mystery production in London, where all three had met earlier? What's he doing with all of that gear? Does he really think he can pull of two more Indy films?

FORD

- So what exactly was he doing in 2000? His work on What Lies Beneath was practically over before the year started, then he began pulling out of solid film choices. Roughly a good year where the only cameras he went before were for a few talk shows on a late summer junket.

BUT MOLA, WHAT ABOUT THE ALREADY IN PLACE 2001 FILM SCHEDULE?

It is interesting that this is one* of the biggest 'sequel summers' that we've had since...1989 (long considered the biggest "summer of sequels").

*[Mummy 2, Dr. Dolittle 2, Crocodile Dundee 3, JP3, Scary Movie 2, Rush Hour 2, etc.]

Also, some of the biggest titles are 1940's period (Pearl Harbor), adventure (Mummy 2, Tomb Raider), and one about a lost city (Atlantis).

(But, is there really anything out there that would be bigger than Indy 4?)

Anyway, sure it's not gonna happen, but what if an announcement came in Feb. or early March? Wouldn't you have to say it was the greatest theatrical sleight of hand ever?

Fabulous Mola would.
