I wear a 7 1/4 as well, and I am a tad over 6 ft tall. I have purchased 2 of the PB fedoras, and I am happier with my last one, so I'll give you the specs on it. Open crown height is 5 3/4, brim 2 3/4 x 2 5/8. After Joe does the styling, you will end up with these "finished specs". Height to top of front pinch is 4 3/4. Same height on the back. The side height will be 5 1/4 inches high. Now eventhough you started out with a 5 3/4 open crown, you lose some of the height in the bashing process, in this case 1 /2 inch. To my eye this looks about right. My next hat will be the 6 inch open crown, with the brim 2 7/8 x 2 3/4. Regards, Fedora
