: Quetzalcoatl was a myth in Aztec mythology. It was said when he died every bone in his body was scattered to prevent him from coming back. When these bones are brought back together and soaked in blood the spirit of Mictlantecuhtli (god of the dead) is envoked. The Nazi's are already ahead and have a number of the bones and it is up to Indy to capture the others before the Nazi's complete the skeleton.

That sounds kind of cool. I can imagine that the bones, being revered for their powers and antiquity, would have ended up in some interesting places. Perhaps some of N.A.'s more ancient explorers (Vikings, Egyptians, etc) would have picked up one or two...
