Do I sound like you? Indiana Jones was my first fashion role model, and twenty years later I find that I still tend to favor Indy-style clothing. I first saw Raiders when I was 11, and it became my favorite film. As I grew older, I began to wonder why this was so, and on reflection I realized that it boiled down to wanting to dress like Indy. Until the advent of the internet, I assumed I was the only one out there. Now I know that we're everywhere. My question is this: has anyone asked or tried to explain why so many of us want to dress like this character? I mean if I were a logical, disinterested observer, I would say, "Come on, it was only a movie." And yet I still am drawn to that hat and jacket, and the cool shirt with the epaulets. There aren't multiple websites devoted to dressing like Han Solo... so what's the underlying psychology here, if any? Anyone care to take a crack at it?
