: : I got this in my E-Mail....

: : Hi
: : We are responding to your request for FREE analysis of your site:
: : http://indyfan.com/forum/messages/57803.html
: : We feel there is very substantial potential to promote your site on the
: : Internet. That is what we do - we bring traffic to our client's websites. We
: : have proprietary software and assortment of other Internet tools designed to
: : make your site popular and bring traffic that is interested in your product
: : area. This can put dollars in your pocket.

: These folks are advertising a search engine promotional service, which they want your website to be part of (for a fee of course). They have a script that searches the net for web pages. They found your Forum post, which had your email address on it, so it assumed you were the webmaster of that page. Obviously it's all automated or a person with half a brain could see that your message isn't a website, but rather a deep part of one. Don't reply to these people. Then, they have a confirmed email address which they might sell to someone. The only thing I know to do with this type of message is ignore it.

Yep, I get these everyday from posting here and at IndyGear. Just hit "delete" and move on. Regards. Michaelson
