: In Raiders, when Brody and Indy are discussing his failed attempt at the Fertility Idol, Brody mentions something like The Treaty for the Collection of Antiquities. What is this?

I believe he said, "I'm sure everything you do conforms to the International Treaty for the Protection of Antiquities. Yes, they are nice."
It is my understanding that the Treaty said that archaeologists must get permission to remove artifacts from a country, and usually, the artifacts actually stay in the country of origin. I do not know if there was an actual treaty by this name, but that is probably what it means. Indy obviously didn't pay much attention to the treaty!
