yeah you're right. What was I thinking. Obviously, when you lean over and the jacket slumps up your shoulder the distance between two seams magically moves closer together and when you stand upright again it goes back to its original spot.

What do you mean flimsy evidence? Do your eyes function properly?
For your info, and sorry Patterson for blowing the horn, maybe some haven't heard this, but that jacket they measured from wasn't worn by HF. It was a stunt double jacket. But that doesn't matter. Look at the picture. The seams are 3" apart, period. Why do you not agree?
