Wested Jacket Length/Fit Question

Just got my Wested Crusade Jacket in the mail. I was surprised by how short it is. The bottom falls only about a couple of inches below the buckle. After looking at some pics, I realized maybe this is actually the way it's supposed to be...but it would be nice to get some confirmation from those that own or know about the jacket.

It also fits more snug than I had imagined. I am guessing this is the way it's supposed to be as well, but some comments on the fit would be good as well.

Any comments are appreciated.
