: HF's characterization of the scruffy archaelogist and, especially, the time period. The 1930s were pretty lousy in terms of economics/politics but that also made it a pretty damn exciting time as well. Plus, there were still parts of the globe that Western eyes had yet to see. You don't get that today. We've pretty much mapped everything down to the rat hole. -MP
