Interesting anecdote, but I'm surprised. There must be a great deal of variation in the density and quality of Wested lambskin. I've only had mine a short time and it has nicks, holes, abrasion marks, fading color, etc. It's had a pampered existence, yet it still shows a few years worth of wear. I agree that it fits great, moves with you, and otherwise "disappears" when worn. MY concerns are that I'm just too active for it to be a heavy-use jacket and frankly I'm tired of wearing something that I have to limit myself---hence my search for a well-designed goatskin. I'll be discouraged if Flightsuits can't make my jacket fit right. Damned if I'll conform to their obese proportions. Is this the shape of the armed forces they're outfitting? Disheartening.
