: A bit of speculation…

: Suppose the pattern was proprietary, i.e. owned by another individual responsible for design, or by Lucasfilms because it was designed by one of its employees. I have worked in conjunction with Lucasfilms on the intellectual property, and we were bound by very strict use and proof of destruction requirements. Each unit had to be accounted as being returned to Lucasfilms or destroyed.

: Also, at the time, RotLA was not seen as being that big of a deal. Nobody – Lucasfilms included – saw the wardrobe as more than any other wardrobe. The only thing that made it unique from most other wardrobes was that it was a period piece. It was probably just another order for 40-some-odd jackets at a couple hundred bucks each. Normally, that would be nothing to stop the presses for.

: Just some thoughts…

: Cheers!

: Patterson
