I'm lightening my LL Bean slowly with warm water and bleach in short sessions, and it's actually working really well...I'm getting closer and closer to that "Ivory" color you mentioned. The good news is also that the shirt is lightening nice and evenly.

: They're pretty lightweight--mid-range, actually. Just remember, since you're concerned that the LL Bean is too tan, Noel Howard's are also. I was surprised when I got them, especially the "Raiders" shirt, which I had alwasy thought was ivory or off-white.
