How about if someone made a Raiders style jacket out of cotton? I'm
serious for the following reasons:

1. Price
A very nice cotton jacket can be purchased for about $130.

2. Weight and breathability
Sometimes (especially if you live in a warm climate) it would be nice
to have a really light jacket that can be worn more often than a
leather jacket.

3. Convenience
Cotton can be washed. Cotton can be made water resitant.

4. Cotton doesn't sqeak...

I would wear a Raiders style jacket made out cotton, would you?

PS: Regarding FS, I'm partial to the chrome goat now. It seems to
offer the best all over compromise in terms of looks and durability
for my needs.
I made a little test: I soaked the goat swatch in water and let it air
dry. It didn't get brittle or shrink at all! :)
As far as color and feel of the material is concerned, I still think
that the deer looks and feels the best. It's just a tad stretchy for
my taste, and the leather seems to need a lot of weather proofing!
