I wouldn't worry about it -- a few weeks of sun and rain will dry the leather back out.

You may not see the scuffs, etc, that were visible before, but they will eventually come back out -- also, the best distressed jackets etc are one that you try to keep looking new, but use to such a degree that you just can't. That's why a construction worker's boots, etc, always look much better and more authentic than somebody who wants that look. My advice would be to use the jacket hard, try to keep it looking new, and you'll end up with the look you want -- it may take a couple of years, though.
