I bought the game as a part of the LucasArts Classic Adventures which INCLUDED MANIAC MANSION, ZAC MCKRACKEN AND THE ALIEN MINDBENDERS, INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE, LOOM AND THE SECRET OF MONKEY ISLAND
and there was one manual for all the games and the section for the Indy game had a copy of the Grail Diary.

However, the Grail Diary on the game itself was totally different from the one in the manual.
The one in the manual was like a diary that Indy's father (Henry) would have kept.
It was like:
Sep 12 1905
.... (1 page)
Oct 26 1911
Letter from ... (1 page)
Jan 5 1913 ...
Mar 30 1917

all the way until before World War II.
