: I ordered a new lambskin "Temple" from Wested. However, I recently changed the lamb to cowhide for durability and longevity. I'm really concerned about how the hide will lay on me. In ToD, the jacket creased all over the arms, actually leaving worn marks. I really want to retain that look on this cowhide(which I will be distressing myself). Is your cowhide Raiders producing creases on your sleaves at all? For example, check Baldwyn's pics below when he compares the FS and Wested. The Wested lays perfectly and wrinkles very well on his arms. Please give me your opinion. Should I simply return back to the lambskin order? I'd appreciate any input you could give me.

: THANX

Well...first, let me clarify something by saying that I do NOT have both the lambskin Wested and the cowhide Wested. I only have the cowhide.
That being said, the sleeves on my current Wested Raiders (which IS cowhide, that was LIGHTLY pre-distressed)
have those creases you are talking about. The creases show up on the movie jacket quite a bit during TOD, but one of my favorite shots is at the very beginning of Raiders when the camera zooms in on Indy holding the map next to the river. You can see the creases very clearly at his cuff.
Anyway, the answer to your question is, the cowhide that I have on hand DOES have the creases. I think Austin's suggestion is actually a pretty sound one, too....
Remember that Wested's cowhide is VERY soft and VERY tough as well. I personally, since you already have the order in for the cowhide, would leave the order cowhide. You won't be constantly worried about it tearing or snagging it on the corner of a wall or coffee table or something (both instances I have heard of the lambskin tearing).
No....I would stay with the cowhide...you made the right call for durability and longevity....AND you will get your creases on the sleeve to boot!

Later!

PS-You will probably get creases ALL OVER the jacket, by the way....go back a few pages in the forum and check out the pics I posted of mine, you'll see what I mean!
