For the last few years Wested's new lamb has very little grain and has a LOT of very shiny dye on it which makes it look like a Glad bag. If what he currently sells, aging your Wested will bring a lot of character to your jacket. I will try and answer your questions:

Any hardware store that sells paint.

: Does it leave a smell to the jacket?

After a 1/2 hour the oder will leave.

: Also, if a mistake is made, would Pecards restore the jacket to it's original state as was done with my natural distressing?

I have not tried to darken jackets after I have aged them, but depending on how much you age it, Pecards will darken and restore it to a degree. The important thing to know about Wested lamb is there is so much dye you can push it over from another spot if you go too far. See my distressing leatherjackets page for details.
