If I were to deviate from the originals? Well, I like those I've seen on G1's, though I've also seen larger even more functional gussets on a few motorcycle jacketd. The G1 gussets would probably be better, though, as the larger one's can be seen even with the arms lowered. Honestly, my original cocern surrounding the gussets had to do more with getting to the bottom of Peter Botwright's inconsistent statements. I have, however, given up on that particular quest.

On the existing gussets? If you widened them 2 inches, they'd probably function fine, but I think they'd be visible. I'm not proposing any further revisions to the pattern.
