: : : I AM NOT GOING TO SEE SAVING PRIVATE RYAN BECAUSE IT IS TOOOOOOOO VIOLENT AND I THINK THAT MATT DAMON AND HIS FRIEND BEN AFFLECK ARE TRYING TO GET ALL THE ATTENTION AWAY FROM LEONARDO DICAPRIO. BILLIONS OF GIRLS LOVE LEO. HE STOLE MILLIONS OF FANS HEARTS AWAY FROM HIS INCREDIBLE PERFOMANCE IN TITANIC (THE #1 MOVIE IN THIS PLANET) SAVING PRIVATE RYAN SUCKS AND MY GRANDPA WAS IN WWII AND I BELIEVE WHAT MY MOM SAYS. HE WAS PROTECTING HIS COUNTRY. BUT THE MOVIE SAVING PRIVATE RYAN HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE REAL THING! I DONT THINK IT SHOULD GET AND NOMINATIONS FOR ANY KIND OF AWARD. THE MOVIE TITANIC CAPTURED PEOPLES HEARTS. SAVING PRIVATE RYAN IS GOING TO CAPTURE NIGHTMARES. DONT SEE IT IF YOU DONT WANT TO WAKE UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. FOR ONE THING MY ENTIRE FAMILY FROM DIFFERENT STATES AGREED NOT TO SEE SAVING PRIVATE RYAN!!

: : It bothers me to see that you feel that this is a movie about popularity between actors. I had the fortune of being able to see "Saving Private Ryan" this weekend and found it to be the best war films I had seen in my life. As far as being too violent, I would have to say "That's the way war is." Am I speaking from experience, no. But as a historian, specializing in Modern American History, this film is extremely realistic. It may not be a true story, but it shows what the men went through in Europe just days after the allied landing, and shows the apparent disregard for life some higher-up military commanders have when it comes to accomplish their own agendas. In my own opinion, I would say that the movie "Titanic" sinks, just like the ship, in comparison to "Saving Private Ryan". And I liked "Titanic". I'm sorry that you and you family is boycotting the film over violence. If you would like further suggestions about what to boycott because of violence, try the news.

: I'm not even going to say that I'm sorry that your boycotting "Saving Private Ryan"--I'm just going to say that you're stupid. It was one of the most realistic and touching films that I've ever seen. You can't even say that it's violent because you haven't even seen it, so you're in no position to judge. My grandpa was in WWII & was positioned exactly where the movie takes place; I think that this movie is a great tribute to him and other WWII veterans. And as far as Matt Damon competing with Leo; he's an actor too, which mean that he's in movies. If being in any movie counts as competing with Leonard DiCaprio, then a lot of actors are in that competition. I really liked "Titanic", but I'm not about to say that it could compare with a film like "Saving Private Ryan". Why don't you save your criticisms for movies that you've actually seen.
