Originally the producers wouldn't let Fonzie wear his leather jacket because it would make him look like a hood (which he was). So they talked the producers into letting him wear it because it was motercycle safety equipment, but the rule was he could only wear it when the motercycle was in the scene, so they made interesting ways to work the motercycle in...like having him ride it into Arnolds or whatever.
