I've always found leather easy to care for -- wipe off the mud and dirt with a wet cloth, keep it well oiled with Pecard's or something similar -- the lining could get in bad shape if you sweated in it a lot, but I typically wear it during cold weather, with a couple of layers underneath, so the lining doesn't suffer much -- the leather gets a lot of wear, but typically just looks better and better (aside from the tears, etc, which really don't happen that much)

Even with cloth jackets, I don't wash them too much -- once every couple of months, depending on what type of work and how muddy etc they get -

Thanks for the response,
Bennett
