Hmmm. Well, I wear a 7 1/4 which translates to a 58. I received a 58 from Hatsdirect,and it was the size of a 59. How do I know? Well, I actually had a size 59 Bushman in hand, and the Federation 58 was the same size as the 59. But there is a variance in hats from various hatters. In a Stetson, Miller, Gary White, and even the previous Akubras that I owned, the 7 1/4 was right on in size. Now the first PB that I bought was a 7 1/4, and it was more like a 7. The last PB was a 7 1/2, and it fit like a 7 1/4!!!. Go figure. I would say on the Federation, just order the next smaller size. Regards, Fedora
