I used to have a gas blowback pistol. They're pretty cool.
The one I had was a .45 automatic, some plastic parts and some
metal parts. It used a real clip with what looked like real ammo.
Actually though, they were metal dummy bullets that unscrewed
and you could put caps inside them. When fired, the caps would
explode (quieter than a real gun) and cause the gun to recoil, eject
the shell, and chamber another one. Japanese construction, only problem
was, the plastic parts weren't really strong enough to handle much
firing and ended up cracking or breaking. True story, though,
I once got pulled over on Halloween night dressed as Indy. Had the .45
on my hip, so to avoid having to make a lengthy explanation, I tossed it
under the seat. Well, the cops saw that, made me get out, frisked me,
searched the car, found the gun, and for about 5 minutes were convinced
it was real. Took some real explaining. The worst of it was that
the cops couldn't figure out who I was supposed to be.
Oh well.
