Based on the predistressed Westeds I've owned, and the new finish lamb Wested I've owned, and then the jacket of Abner's I saw last week, I'd only see going with new finish cowhide. I don't know where Peter got it, but about the ONLY improvement I could see to that hide would be to get it in seal brown. Cowhide will be much more durable as compared to lamb - but still falls short of goat or horse. The weight of Abners was very good - lighter than the predistressed Westes I've owned, but close to US Wings' Old Cowhide. Based on the pics I've seen of the "Return of the Leather Concesionaires Jacket", Peter is getting closer to the original he had a hand in. My compliments...
