I love the jacket! It gets better each time I wear it. I would like a satin-type lining, maybe, but it probably wouldn't be as comfortable as the poly/cotton. A second inside pocket would be nice. Actually, what I have just said is I would like an Old Cow jacket with the features of a VIP. As far as the leather is concerned, no smell on mine. The color could be a little darker, but acutally for a TOD jacket, it is good "as is". And I have slept in mine. Not on purpose; I was just watching a tape late at night and couldn't stay awake.
