The Boy Scouts IS a private organization, but much controversey has come about the last few years over gay members. It's one thing for someone "openly" gay to be frowned upon by the organization (not that I think there should be a problem), but several instances have occurred when a Scout Leader or member has kept such matters strictly to their private life, and yet have been outsted upon discovery.

Let's be honest here: homophobia is one of the last "accepted" predjudices in our society, and for an organization catering to benefit the young, it's a bit upsetting to hear such discrimination. As if gays don't have enough to deal with, think how hard it must be for gay KIDS.
