First, take out that purty white liner. I forgot to mention this on the initial post, and a fan here ran into some dye bleeding problems. Next, thoroughly wet the leather sweatband, especially the unfinished side touching the hat. Place the hat on a conventional lampshade, turn on the incandescent bulb, and sit back and watch Raiders. Every few minutes, test it for size. When it feels "right", leave it on and wear it for awhile. Make sure when you take it off, it is kept in a cool place. The leather will still likely be damp, and you don't want it to shrink anymore. I know this will work to reduce a hat by a hat size. The only drawback to this method is that sometimes the sweatband will "pucker", but with wear, this will iron itself out. Good luck! Regards, Fedora
