Michaelson got me to wearing the felt fedoras in the summer, but if I am doing a strenous activity outside here in the deep south, I switch to a straw panama styled hat. But I am a heavy sweater, more so than most folks. The sun will fade felt or anything else with enough exposure. In the case of a darker hat like the Federation, this is beneficial. I plan on giving mine plenty of the sunlight this summer. If your fedora gets good and wet and then you go out in the hot sun, you can expect some shrinkage. Under ordinary conditions, you should have no problem with shrinkage during hot weather. Regards, Fedora
