the fed is a tiny bit stiffer out of the box than the hj. I LOVE my fed, now that I've dimensionally cut the brim, changed the ribbon and steamed and bashed, it reminds me of the peruvian temple rotla hat. It's also almost IDENTICAL in color to the HJ, just a tad darker, but Fedora says it will lighten up over wearing time in the sun. Wearing my fed, it makes me wonder why i ever spent 300 on the HJ..

Also, btw, the HJ brim is shorter all around than both sets of Raiders specs on Indygear (look up my recent posts on exact hat brim specs). At first the larger fed brim looked awkward, but now I prefer it.
