First off, I don't know about the books. So, personally, I'm just goin' by the movies.
Secondly, just because he knows about the occult doesn't mean that he can't be a beleiver in something bigger (I use God because of the obvious Ark, and the cup of Christ, basically proving the Bible)
Occult means beyond the realm of human comprehension . . . relating to supernatural influences . . . or hidden from view. (By the way I'm not tryin' to show that I'm smart, I got these out of the dictionary) If you go by TOD and say that he can't believe in God, then after looking at this definition you'd have to agree that Christianity could fall under the same category.
Again, my personal feelings about God aren't the issue but I DO think (no matter if I believe or not) that Indy believes in a higher power and after the finding of the Ark and the Holy Grail, I'm guessing that'd be God.
