: In a way a factory does what MK does when distressing a jacket, fading some areas of the dye so the jacket looks older. You can put jackets into the dryer (NO HEAT) to soften it up but putting a jacket with pebbles into a dryer would beat and punish the leather and also weakening it, kinda like dragging the jacket behind a truck. This would cut the life of your jacket very short.
