the DMs are the originals as you say, and you will most likely never have to be replace it unless you subject it to extremely heavy use and abuse. By getting the second best, you will, guaranteed, always look at the MA whip and say nice whip, but its not the real thing. And someday you'll have to get the DM whip anyway. If I were you I would wait the extra few months and get exactly what it is you want, besides when you go with the Cadilac, you never regret it...
