didn't mean to mislead you. I have a 10 footer and thats what I plan on getting again, mainly for the collecting purposes. I love a good eight foot whip though. They are easier to keep off the ground and a bit faster in use. If you are a begining user go for the eight. It will be easier for you to learn with and won't wear out your arm as readily.
Morgans are heavy whips. And of course it is a bit easier on the pocket book.

If you are a first time user and plan on learning how to crack it, order one of the videos offered by both david and mark. Specifically Whip Cracking Made Easy. hosted by Alex Green. This will give you some good pointers. I think they are around $20.
