Let me tell a story (don't worry; it's short!). When I became a history major many years ago (six), I wasn't able to stomach "historical" movies. But I learned to put aside my professional interest in seeing history accurately portrayed in film so that I could just enjoy the movie. Summer blockbusters like the Mummy don't normally go overboard in the research department; the hairstyles, fashions and architecture are usually accurate, but the larger issues (language, historical events, etc.) are usually sacrificed in order to make the movie more agreeable to modern movie-goers. As long as movies don't bill themselves as history, I'm willing to let it slide. Just don't get me started on "Gladiator"! ;)

PS I didn't really answer your question, did I?
