Indy character evolution

Anyone ever notice that HF played Indiana different in every movie? In
Raiders he played him the straightest. In Temple he plays him cocky.
In Crusade he plays him cranky. These are generalities, but I wonder
if anyone agrees. Of course, each movie was written by different
screenwriters. He may have been written different in each movie. It
would also be a coincidence that the movie timeline coincides with the
character development. In Temple he's young and cocky. The Temple of
Doom adventures taught him to be more subdued by the time Raiders
comes around. Two years later for Crusade he is mentally and
physically tired. Why am I writing this? It amused me. I thought
others might be too. Regards
