I think he would've done it in more of the fashion of the gunfight in Raiders, not the "Rambo" style. He knows how to use a gun, and I'm sure he'd prove it to us.
I also would like to add that the way Indy fistfights is (IMHO) far superior in entertainment quality that the "Matrix" style stuff. It seems like everything seems to be using that style of fighting nowadays (there were hints of it in the Mummy returns). (don't get me wrong, I liked the matrix, but lets use real fighting techniques, and leave the fanstastic fights to the matrix and its supposed sequels.)
