Concerning your question about the video game-
I am not really sure if there is a program out there to make a completely independent game, but there are a few good level editors out there to create your own level for an existing game. One really good one is for Star Wars Jedi Knight called JED. It allows you to create your own level(or as many levels as you like) with your own storyline and everything(including creating your own 3d objects to use in your game). Your possibilities are endless as far as Star Wars is concerned, although it would be possible to create an Indiana Jones skin to use, to make an Indy game. I made a level called 'A Wookiees Fate' which the star character was Han Solo(looking very much like Harrison Ford). This would be an excellent start for you if you are serious about learning, and the best part- it's all free for download!(although you will need the Jedi Knight CD to use it) Your one stop shop for the program and a multitude of tutorials is a site called 'The Massassi Temple'. You should find a link at either www.jediknights.net or www.jediknights.com, or just search the name, you should find it. Making video games isn't exactly the easiest thing to do, but after some time you will see that it gets much easier, and you will have a much better understanding on the inner workings when you eventually get your hands on a program to make an independent game. Hope this helps...Mark
P.S.- It really is a lot of fun, everyone should try it.
