Except that a lot of folks might like to do the aging themselves -- you can get the look you want better than anyone else - or maybe offer a 'half distressed' or 'hand distressed' jacket, but imagine the price for a half-day of additional labor (nm)

: Wouldn't it be prudent at this juncture for Flight Suits to set aside some goatskin and do the "aging" for us, the customers? Couldn't THEY rub it down with alcohol and treat it with leather dressing? I mean the jackets cost almost twice what a Wested does, not to mention what a "customized" Expedition is haulin' in.

: It just seems like FS could take the extra effort and make their leather as Indy-like as possible, so we don't have to. Upon requesting a sample of FS' most "aged" hides I was sent "vintage lambskin". Now as far as distressability goes it was perfect, but it was too light. The color resembles that of buckskin you might see Indians wearing in old westerns. I don't understand why a happy medium can't be found, between new leather and super-light aged leather.
