Gobler is Dietrich's aide. He is a rather young officer, and has
these scenes: "Perhaps the girl can help us" in a nastily cocky voice;
can be seen looking down at Jones in the Well of Souls I think;
when Belloq says "When we are very far from here", Gobler runs up to
Dietrich, apparently talking about the plane; and then, he walks with
Dietrich, who says "Gobler, I want plenty of protection". He might
be in the second jeep, but none of the characters look like him.


In the original script, Gobler is in the second jeep with Toht and
dies in the crash. In another draft, he melts along with the other
Nazis.
