I sent this to the IndyGear site and they said they'd publish it but they didn't:

Hi,

Not being a specialit in Hebrew and not knowing Hebrew at all I decided to
share some thoughts on the markings on the headpiece.

1.As far as I know Hebrew is read from right to left, so first we have to
reverse the letters. Then the front reads VAMH AHT MOL QDHS, KBD JHVH
VHMHSKG (using your transliteration)

2.Now we see that we have a JHVH which is what God gives Moses as being his
(God's) name when Moses asks him. (BTW in a book I read that in ancient
Hebrew this means "I am who I am" or something like "Mind your own
business". Perhaps God simply told Moses that he should not ask for God's
name). Anyway later in the Bible this becomes Jehova.

Well, that's all I can tell you for now. May be I'll logically get to
something more later.
